I feel like I have no place as a non binary person. Mainstream spaces are full of tucutes, but 4tran adjacent spaces seem to get more and more weird like that. Am I still welcome here? Is my dysphoria enough or are we already actual anti-enby transmedicalists now?

This is the post btw: https://www.reddit.com/r/4tran4/comments/1sczen7/comment/oehh2ss/

transmedicalism is universally hated in 4tran and adjacent spaces.

“Transmed just means you think you need dysphoria to be trans”

no that’s called common sense :/

“A person who believes that medically-diagnosed gender dysphoria or medical transition are essential traits of being transgender.”

the key part is the “medical diagnosis” which is literally where “transMED” comes from. someone who generally thinks dysphoria is needed to be trans would be truscum if they really want a word to describe themselves with.

lowkirk this definition is stupid and i don’t like it, if not transmed than i want some word for people who love medical gatekeeping and want to do more of it

Traditionally transmed meant the medical gatekeepy types. Now it’s kinda just the same as truscum

Cleary not if people are attacking other transsexuals for not fitting bullshit standards of ‘trutrans’ and making them feel unsafe. Yeah they’re not restricting them from medical transition, but the attitude is certainly there.

ive moslty lurked r/4tran4. also been on the board but only a tiny bit but. and ive only really ever seen people call nondysphorics (aka cis) faketrans. and if someone telling you that you don’t have a condition that you do not in fact have makes you feel unsafe then stay off the internet

“this cancer support group makes me feel unsafe because they say i cant identify with cancer if i dont have cancer :(”

what is the implication here, i feel like youre being intentionally vage.

are you trying to imply the joke being made in the screenshot is the same thing as harassing someone for not being “truetrans” enough?

I mean… yeah? I think it’s pretty reasonable to not want transsexual communities to be actively hostile to fellow transsexuals for transphobic (trutrans bullshit is just downstream of Blanchardism/Benjaminism) reasons

                “fellow transsexuals”

non binary isnt transsexual though. there is no third sex to trans into. non binary is a social identity. there are probably people who are transsexual and identify as non binary but theyre not the same.

also 4tran adjacent spaces are literally the only spaces ive been able to find at least that arent overrun by nondysphoric (cis) people so while yeah i think “if you do xyz youre faketrans” is stupid, keeping out genuine actual fake trans people is reasonable.

So, you understand that transsexuals can be non-binary, but you still don’t think hostility towards non-binary people in transsexual spaces is a problem?

You can keep out cis people without resorting to nb hate

this isnt really even hostility though its pretty obviously a joke. i think making fun of the fact that non binary people’s identity is used to be transphobic towards transsexuals is fine. because that happens insanely often. the original post that comment was on was calling a (likely binary) trans woman non binary because she had big hands. 99% of the time “non binary” people are cis, and even when there’s nobody involved who identifies as non binary, that identity is commonly used against binary transsexuals. like in the original post on reddit.
