  • I would love to see the old Sheffield Victoria Station reopen and express services run to an expanded Manchester Piccadilly via the Penistone/North Peak route. Running something like 1-2 services an hour, with a possibility to expand the route to Doncaster via Meadowhall inorder to link up with the East Coast Mainline. Also possibly linking up services to Liverpool.

For rolling stock I would like to see an accessible train like the Class 755/FLIRT or an adapted version of the Class 345 used by the Elizabeth line (albeit with passenger toilets and a better top speed)

** In all seriousness, reopening Victoria Station could serve as a catalyst for revitalising a quite deprived area of the city, especially if it is linked up to the tram network and happens in tandem with other projects such as restoring the old town hall.

I was groped by an older girl in front of her friends when I was 11 as a joke. That and other instances have made it really hard to trust straight women even into adulthood. My friend group is mostly gay guys and other trans ppl.

I don’t really have strong doctrinal beliefs but I do go to a nominally Christian faith group every so often. It’s more to spend an hour in silent reflection with others, and then have a communal meal. This has helped ease my depression and boost my social confidence a bit.

As for the faith aspects, I try not to talk about it too much. But, since you asked, I do like some aspects of the character of Jesus as a metaphor/fable.

If an all-powerful God/universal consciousness that transcends our understanding were to come live among us, I like the idea that it wasn’t as some conquering warlord emperor type. Instead, so the story goes, god came to us as a poor Palestinian carpenter living under colonial occupation who then was brutally murdered by powers afraid of his message of peace and equality. This message ultimately undermined the fear they used to prop up their rule.

I like this metaphor. I think it is pertinent to our times. I don’t profess to believe its true though, and if I did I’d keep it private.

Lost most of them in over the years as I transitioned away from being an attractive(ish) slim guy to a freaky looking overweight trans woman.

I have a couple close ones but they live abroad in countries where cis women are less conditioned to see trans women as predators.

I’m bi but with a heavy preference for men. I’m in an st4t relationship rn that is just so lovely. He’s like 6 ft and passes really well. Plus he goes to gym alot so is physically much stronger than me. Sometimes I forget he’s trans. Being around him makes me feel more like a woman.

I really feel like I’ve won a lottery with him though as I’ve had some extremely distressing experiences with trans men and trans women in the past.

That MBTA EMD F40PH is one of the few trains I’ve taken in the USA. I was on a holiday there last year to see a good friend in Lowell (after a weekend layover in Iceland).

Whilst part of me loves the scale and industrial grime of many US trains, fuck me if it was rough ride. I even used it to go to and from Boston on St Patrick’s day which was one of the most uncomfortable train journeys of my life, made worse by all the drunk 16 years singing the the US national anthem and calling me a fag.

Still, on the same trip, I also took one of these to visit Salem and the journey was considerably more pleasant. Though if I had a time machine I would have loved to see the old 1870s station there that was demolished in the 50s.
