Earlier this week, I had a late night journey on the East Coast Main Line, travelling between northwards from Peterborough. It is a route I have done many times before with the London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) services. On almost all of those occasions, this has been on Azuma Class 800 units. However, this night instead it was an old Class 91 electric locomotive (a.k.a Intercity 225), built in the 1980s at the famous Crewe British Rail works, that pulled into the platform. I took a shitty blurry photo before getting on.

The locomotive as 91101, and had the Flying Scotsman livery.

Inside the the carriages felt more spacious compared to the Azuma, though the ride was quite a bit rougher.

Going north the train passed through the famous Stoke Bank. It was here back in 1989, that a Class 91 set the British electric locomotive speed record, achieving approximately 162 miles per hour.
I also checked out the dining car and got a beer and a bacon sandwich. The two guys working there were chatty gay guys (who I’m pretty sure clocked me immediately though).

We got to our final destination of Leeds and I got out and took some more photos.

waow !! its so beautifull!
