I’m playing through ORAS now, I was 7 when it was released. I was poor so didn’t have a 3ds to play it

OR/AS came out when I was in highschool

It was when I first got into proper competitive and shiny hunting. I bred a good amount of shines on my save file

im really sad the 3ds and ds games no longer really have a community, I never really played my 3ds with another person except for niche times where a mega autist brought it to school 1 time, and when I bought a 2ds for my bff but she never really wanted to play it with me. I was hoping pretendo would bring back the pokemon servers but they havent, I was so excited for ZA but they got rid of Wonder trading and the online is so bad it’s really not fun. If I had a switch 2 I’d play violet because you can run around with friends, Ultimately I’d just play pokopia at that point bc the world is so ugly in violet idk how they made it look worse than sun and moon when suba nd moon is. 3ds gams. ok I’m sorru for rambling

There was something special about the 3ds really. Even though online play was introduced in the DS era for handhelds the 3DS just felt much more social and global in a way that the original DS didn’t.

Yeah I grew up with the original R/S. I probably got sapphire when I was like 4 lol. Hoenn was the gen I started with. I never had emerald though. I still enjoyed the fuck out of it though.

There is just something special about Hoenn idk.

Always something special with the things we grew up with. They have a charm to them.

Yeah true its def part of it.

Though not entirely really. I made a post about this before but it was like the last era or time where we could have genuine secrets in games and such because the internet wasn’t as big or widely used then.

Like the braille puzzles to find the regis. I had no idea what that shit meant back then lol. Though now stuff like that isn’t much of a thing

I was like 10 when this came out, I was never able to play them as a kid (but I was as an adult) but I feel really nostalgic about it because I’d watch a bunch of videos about it on YouTube, and I remember playing that free demo thing they had on the 3ds a few times as well
