That our actions, appearance, the way we present ourselves is what decides our gender sounds sexist. The consept sounds like, what makes us our gender is the societal roles (gender roles) we choose to embrace. But, if a cis womban wanted to choose to embrace mens’ societal roles, would that mean that she is a man? or that she is more of a man than a woman?

It just sounds sexist idk… maybe I’m just being a trad

the idea that they are the same is sexist. why would your hobbies, personality, etc. etc. decide if you are a man or a woman? cause that what saying they are the same implies.

people who tend to say gender and sex are immutable also believe that the social stereotypes assigned to each class are inherent. that women and men’s roles are decided by sex, rooted in biology.

yes, i also sometime see terfs point this out too and its so annoying when nearly everyone is like “gender doesnt equal sex” and then the terf goes “seee look the TRAs are sexist omg” and Im like “nooo u got it all wrong terf ur argument is invalid” but then the terf points to all the allies and sneeds proclaiming that ackshually they can “identify” as women cuz they like dresses or smth and that sex is still immutable blah blah male women blah blah internalized cissexism blah blah

    makes me want to kms

gender as a concept was unironically invented by john money to justify the mutilation of intersex people it’s a shit concept and lowk dualist and therefore retarded. the body and mind are inherently interconnected, one cannot really separate gender and sex with such disregard for the physiology of the body. in our case, we’re intersex, although the most prominent intersex traits in transgender people are the brain.

    It doesn’t mean anything.

People say “gender is a social construct” but doesn’t that mean that society decides what gender is? And in our society gender and sex are undeniably linked. It’s why women who embrace male social roles and whatnot are still women. It’s why people, even woke ones, will never accept no HRT trans people as completely their identified gender.

Gender doesn’t equal sex is not a statement that reflects the reality of our culture, and is more of statement for what they want society to be I guess.
