There is a reason MtF’s are predominantly gynephilic, and FtM’s are predominantly androphilic. There is a much bigger chance to meet a gay trans person, than a straight trans person. And even in 4tran-adjacent spaces I have seen a lot of “straight” women who repress their attraction to women. You can post studies if you want, but I truly believe they lack a nuance, as a lot of bi trans people seem to lean more gay than an average cissoid.

    ok, so why aren’t cis moids more gay? like, most trans women are still androphilic to some extent and, since cis moids are much less likely to be same-sex attracted than women, pretty much every data i ever found about tranny sexuality lines up closer with cis women than cis moids. especially like, gen-z cis women, non-repping trannies skew younger in general so i think it’s fair to account for that. how do you explain this?

      Idk, I have seen a lot of cis moids who have some repressed mild homosexual attraction. Most of them never really think about it much, and it’s mild enough for them to not care anyway.

      Edit: And it’s also shamed a lot. It’s much easier to just comphet.

        so… why are you willing to use social circumstances as an explaination for cis moids not being gayer but not for trans women not being straighter? like, there may be some biological component to this but i the reason why trannies seem so much gayer on average is mostly that we’re just less susceptible to comphet. due to already being considered queer anyway and i a way having experienced both sides of comphet. that and the fact straight trannies are more likely to be stealth and not participate in trans communites.

        i mean… probably part of the reason why i latch on to this ideia so hard is partially because the though i only like women because i was born a moid is deeply disgusting to me but like… i do genuinely think the social component is an undeniable factor to this.

        i think looking at the difference in sexuality data between generations can give you a good ideia about how much socialization can impact this stuff. gen z is literally 10 times as gay as boomers.

          What I wrote are just anecdotes and my own beliefs. It’s an uncommon sight to see a sapphic cis woman online and offline, but there are so much more sapphic troons. Like even T4T by itself is largely gay, not ST4T. I’m exclusively gynephilic, as I said, and I doubt I will ever feel comfortable calling myself a lesbian because of it.

    i think a reason for discrepancy between the number of straight trans women and gay trans women reported in studies vs ones own perception day to day in different loci (irl vs online, here vs board, etc) that nobody tends to discuss is literally just homophobia. when you take into account only out trans women or only passing trans women, as a formal study might, straight trans women will appear much more often because it has always been more acceptable for a trans woman to be straight, just as it has always bern more acceptable for anyone to be straight, so straight trans women have a better chance of “floating to the top”, as it were
