It’s not inherently this way, I know it used to be women-dominated and not all areas of the world are biased towards men in CS. Still, it makes it hard to be proud of what I’m good at. Probably half of all the young adults female programmers are trannies. What’s worse, they’re almost all sneeds, almost all transbians. I still don’t know if I’m a transbian or a straggot, probably because im a self loathing bishit, but I wish I could just be a straggot. I could get over fitting the stereotype if I wasn’t a hideous male fakewoman, but that’s exactly what I am. I’d like to at least be fembrained if I can’t pass, but I don’t get to have that.

I was talking at a party with some woman(?) who said that she had to leave her compsci degree because of the sexism (people assuming she was in the wrong room, ugh) and mentioned that she was “the only AFAB” in a lot of her classes :/

but to be real with you, the whole malebrained and fembrained thing is retarded because even if theres a strong basis in truth, it still doesn’t matter because a malebrained passoid will pass while a fembrained gigahon will never

I wanted to make a post about “let’s make compsci girly again” but I filled with cringe at the sneediness. This is not possible, I’ll have to come to terms with being malebrained

it was not women-dominated, it was a different profession entirely back then and that appealed to the female brain as opposed to the male brain like it does now

I don’t buy into the gender gap truly being caused by malebrain or fembrain. Maybe only as a cope but still. I think it’s more about programming becoming clearly important to the public and self confident men coming in to take the jobs that they previously left only to women because they thought it was too tedious

if you look at very old “computer science”, it’s basically just simple math, and it wasn’t even female dominated to be real with you, it was just female dominated comparitively to other professions of the time and culture plays a big part in what jobs you value the most

I am not well versed in the history so i don’t wanna argue too much. The vibe I have in my head is that women used to Be the computers, doing menial calculations, then programming naturally arose to automate those gradually and women kept those roles. Then programming became more and more advanced as a profession until it was deemed respectable enough by men

they were not doing these mental calculations, you just don’t really understand how the world was 100 years ago in the west at least.

Most of the time, they had an important job, being mothers, that’s pretty fucking important and usually took priority over other types of work

this besides the brain pseudoscience stuff. It was clerical work which has been advertised to women for a very long time.

the brain is an organ, sure there might not be a big difference in actual structure, but brains become male and female due to the culture they gain and the hormones of their body

There is no such binary, and prenatal hormone exposure doesn’t do anything deterministic either. I see what you mean, however. Influence? for sure. Actually create a “male” or “female” brain? nah.
