My head is pretty long and oval, but what is midface in 4tran context exactly? Like the individual parts are fairly proportionate, so I have a big forehead but other parts too. What can ffs fix and what can it not? Is my neck going to shrink on HRT? Can my eye size change? They seem kinda small :(

A high Face length/Face width ratio is the thing that most commonly makes people here scream MIDFACEE
Second thing is long philtrum (which is part of the lower third)
There is also another way to measure it from eyebrow to lips but noone who isn’t a bit out of the loop uses it imo
Midface length isn’t sexually dimorphic (though it does correlate with height) The real definition is from bottom of brow to bottom of nose
Here, a lot of people on 4tran use the measurement on the right, but that’s a bit nonsense since it mixes midface (real) with philtrum, and philtrum is sexually dimorphic, so if you really wanted an accurate measurement of how much to doom you’d just measure that or the lower third instead of muddying the waters.
Men with short snubby noses and long philtrums would have a “normal” midface by this definiton (but in actually it would be teeny tiny ugly), and they would be incredibly sexually dimorphic
I’ve checked my width to height facial ratio and it said 1.6 . My nose is long height wise but in proportion to philtrum it is like 3 of them. Philtrum itself around lip height. But midface based in medical standard is around forehead height. Idk if I should doom
I’m sorry I really can’t properly imagine this, and “it is like 3 of them” really isn’t a scientific measurement… If your upper and mid face are the same length then midface is probably okay.

By height I meant length of the philtrum and lip. But I was judging this based on some photo on my phone, might be more accurate in a mirror. I am not sure if I should send a photo, I’m still waiting for HRT to arrive and if I realize my face is unsalvageable even after HRT and ffs it’ll be a ropenuke
It is incredibly incredibly rare for someone to be unsalvageable with ffs. And yeah I get it sending or even taking photos used to make me wanna slice myself up, I was just offering in case you wanted to.

I think my side profile is much worse than my front profile. I mean I could try sending you a pic, but it is scary for someone to see how ugly and unfeminine my face is. But yeah I’ll do it. Short note: I don’t have shaped eyebrows or anything and maybe that photo is light frauding

Really, 99% of people who have a long midface just look slightly different, it’s not really an important trait for your appearance. The look of your face works in tandem with brows, hair, skin, and a ton of other features that we perceive subconsciously. Even if you can’t trust your eyes because of bdd, measuring only your midface won’t provide an accurate picture.
I wish there was some kind of AI that could actually judge this. But I won’t share my photos anytime yet, I need to be on HRT at least a year
your neck is largely muscle, so it is likely to shrink but slowly. your eyes will not change, but the fat around them that makes them look smaller can, you can also get a browbone and cheekbone reduction during ffs to increase that effect, but it will be mostly due to a large skull, as eyeballs are roughly the same size in most adults.
ffs can fix midface but with a lot of asterisks. you can fix perceived midface fairly cheaply if it partly comes from a long philtrum, but it can also require a “lefort reduction” which is pretty expensive.
to tell if you have a long midface… based on your description you probably do, but if it fits the rest of the face it can be manageable without ffs. its not as damning as people imply, but it has a pretty big impact on beauty (not necessarily passing)
