    i think it’s more that they start allowing themselves to be attracted, like they stop subconsciously repressing their attraction that was always there, but the average person isn’t that self aware so they say “i started e and now im attracted to men”

        I mean direct causation does always mean correlation… That’s how it works…

        But in actuality yeah some women don’t like the idea of being a gay male so for a woman to be allowed to not be male in her own attraction makes her more into men

        I think that’s the main “cause” anyway

        Though sex hormones do obviously have effect on specific aspects of sexuality (that’s why my ragebait was good its like 30% true…)

        And yes I agree all of this is gross and horrifying but that’s humans for ya…

          but the point stands. the only studies i find on this are about prenatal hormones in the womb. nothing about estrogen suddenly making you want dick

            tbh i wish i could find any studies at all about estrogen/testosterone effects on trans people… such wonderful pseudo-control of variables for research yet trannies are still avoided 😔

            but yeah its no coincidence that its the average bi leaning lesbians who “finds men alluring but stays away from them and women are like normal to like and its fine its there” pre-hrt then turn into straighties after getting a female body

            still though would be cool if there was more research on the specifics

              yeah most of what i found about trannies was on levels of libido with very little mentioning sexual preferences.

              the one article i did find just now that mentions it I couldn’t access for free sadly but the abstract’s conclusion didnt make any claims about it changing sexual orientation

        Because testosterone doesn’t guarantee attraction to women and estrogen/progesterone doesn’t guarantee attraction to men?

        Some people’s brains respond differently to different hormones, in the same way that e might not make someone more emotional or whatever but it might do that for someone else there’s only a chance that your brain responds in X way to Y hormones

          cause ive only ever seen studies about how prenatal hormone levels in the womb can affect sexuality, and even those studies arent 100% accurate

            I don’t have any evidence past my own anecdote (who tf even studies this?) and I know what I went through. I was exclusively attracted to women (even if I found it disgusting) on T and then E and prog made me attracted to men.

            There’s no evidence it doesn’t happen, because it’s only been studied in the context of cis gays rather than trans ppl.

            Best evidence we have is most ppl are het since they’re mostly cis and hence would have the hormones that “are more likely to make them attracted to the opposite sex” but that’s a stretch tbh
