i feel bad throwing single use plastics away. sure i recycle some of them for cyst collection from fairy shrimp tanks and such but i still end up throwing a bunch away.
Idk about u but I care about human health more than throwing away plastics
how hard would it be to actually just be able to sterilize equipment tho? I used to do it as a nursing assistant, so i understand the risks and all, but would i need like an entire cleanroom setup just for syringes?
I’m not really a professional but u would need autoclave and it would still be not perfect but probably enough??? I think it’s more about it taking time and it gives you room for mistakes but in general tbh I saw people drop syringes, reuse them etc, nothing bad really happens if it’s one time off… Just seems like u cutting plastic usage in the last place it needs to be cut
idk its also a price thing, but needles are honestly more expensive in bulk. im not stupid enough to reuse but i have heard stories of people getting away with it, luckily im not in that position yet. autoclave would be a huge investment even for cheapo ones, i guess its a tradeoff. idk.
Autoclave is steam and chemicals
Steam melts plastic
One use needles are one use for more than one reason, by the 2nd godforbod 3rd time using that needle it aint going in smoothly…
Autoclave for reusable syringes which aren’t made of fucking plastic
I smushed the words together, my bad, thought you were talking about reusing the needle part (cuz I got cotton in my ears…)
Good luck with reusable syringes, seems like a noble enough idea.
