I will one day be a STEMhon and as such I have been described in my life as being being meticulous (or maybe more so obsessive) with some things like I have years of somewhat extensive documentation on my arthritis I put together. I am planning on doing a lot of the same while I transition for at least for a couple years while things are changing. I am considering things to photograph, journal, measure, etc. Give me any recommendations you all have.

What I have so far.

Photographing:

  • Face, hairline, hands, body, (probably an area of body hair until I can start shaving or something)
  • Photos of facial hair removal progress once I can (hopefully) get laser

Journaling:

  • Table of HRT changes rated objectively where I can or subjectively if I can’t - Skin texture, oil, body odor, nail changes, onset of ED (hopefully soon I hate the rapestick)
  • Level of dysphoria?

Keep a journal of your measurements if you don’t mind being wormed. Underbust, bust, waist, bidel, hip circ etc. I’ve been doing that.

I’ll see about doing that the issue is that I am still losing a considerable amount of weight. Not really sure how accurate it will be to be able to separate HRT effects and weight loss. I guess the most interesting would be bideltoid since that would show how much muscle atrophy can do.

Bideltoid can shrink when losing weight too, that’s liable to be the majority of your gains there. But track your BMI alongside it while your at it! It’s kind of fun to track all your measurements when losing weight too.

I think my bideltoid would have shrunk more a while ago from losing weight if I had been measuring it. Going on 70 lbs down I don’t have enough fat on my shoulders such that I feel like it will effect much. I have been tracking my weight pretty much daily since the beginning of October when I really started losing weight (was 20 lbs down from highest about a year and a half earlier).

a small note about your thoughts on these things is my opinion just as good as data. But other than this, that’s pretty good!

I already started a few weeks ago journaling about how I feel each day but I don’t know if I will share it with anyone where I kind of plan on posting all of this one day. Its a good idea though and I think I will incorporate how I feel about stuff in a way I could share with others.
