are you sure yours isnt the breadth shr? thats different from this one which is most likely circumference, thats why the averages are so low

i’m worked about shr and i honestly doubt it is, wikipedia has that written but that’s based on one study from 2003, i’ve found no other source that states similar results, though circumference average usually is said to be around that

looks like i was right. following the source for these stats from wikipedia, i gained access to the article through my uni and look what was written in it?
as expected it was circumference

additionally, the introduction to the study says “ Another sexually dimorphic feature is shoulder to hip ratio (SHR), the circumference of the shoulders relative to the hips.”
