Like it might be that feeling the Lord’s glory and grace makes me so happy and might even feel a bit emotionally overwhelming, but maybe I’m just weird? I’m not religious myself, but this doesn’t seem like something that is uncommon. I have teared up reading secular works, I imagine the extra emotional attachment you might have to a religious text would make any reaction much stronger
Nahhh girlie that’s textbook religious experience :) I often feel the same way when a hymn chord hits just right or I see the Host elevated. Emotions aren’t the point of the whole thing, but they are a normal part of Christian life. Fr. Martin Thornton (a 1950s writer I like) called them ‘spiritual sweetmeats,’ i.e. little treats that God gives us along our road.
