Like I could read a Bible verse and just start tearing up out of nowhere. Like it might be that feeling the Lord’s glory and grace makes me so happy and might even feel a bit emotionally overwhelming, but maybe I’m just weird? It’s not like it’s common enough that other people rlly bring it up, so idk… :<
Nahhh girlie that’s textbook religious experience :) I often feel the same way when a hymn chord hits just right or I see the Host elevated. Emotions aren’t the point of the whole thing, but they are a normal part of Christian life. Fr. Martin Thornton (a 1950s writer I like) called them ‘spiritual sweetmeats,’ i.e. little treats that God gives us along our road.
