“butch” when referring to a tranny is code for non passing btw
Which sucks because butches are awesome and I love dressing masc but I’ll never pass enough to come off as a cis butch who presents masculine but is still clearly female, rather I’ll just look like the fucking moid that I am
I thin it’s more just code for masculine. Women can be masculine and still pass
cis women have to deliberately present masculine and pass as butch women. when it comes to trannies and people call us butch without us deliberately presenting that way, it just means we don’t pass.
Doesn’t mean the end result isn’t the same. Like deep voices for example, where some women adopt them, and some trans women just have them, but they may still both be perceived the same, female but masculine
but the end result isn’t always the same. like visually, i used to sometimes post selfies in /passgen/ early transition and people called me butch, but i made no effort to present in a butch aesthetic, i was just clocky. cis butch women look like cis women who present butch, non-passing trans women look like men and are therefore called “butch”.
