Family member had a kid, think my brother will be the godfather, I was sent a photo of the new baby, she looks good and healthy, but hell. There, lying in the incubator, was a pink name card. This shit really does start the moment you pop out, huh? Maybe I’m just as bad, upholding this nonsense subconsiously. She must be a baby girl because “pink = girl”.
It’s not your fault for upholding a connection that has been ingrained in us for decades now.

I’m saddened that, as a society, that notion is upheld. I have seen some utterly horrific baby clothing in my time. Bullshit like “World’s next rocket scientist” in blue (of course), for the baby boy. “My daddy will be swatting the boys away soon!” in frilly pinks for the girls.
My mother used to dress me in pinks and dresses as a baby, too. I’m just bitter, perhaps.
