It took me 2 full years to learn a solid styling routine. I use leave in conditioner, mousse, cream, and holding gel then diffuse. I get compliments all the time in public, mostly from other girlies that are into hair stuff though

Pretty! They’re really full, even at the tips.

How do you manage to make them bundle up so nicely? Mine often look like strands of seaweed despite a decent routine.

I scrunch all sides of my head (even upsidedown for curly roots) so it’s curly everywhere. I make sure I have the perfect amount of product and water in my hair so it doesn’t get too weighed down

But how do you measure that?

Weighing down might be the issue for me, not due to hair, but just the hair’s weight due to its length.

After getting out of the shower I’ll wait a bit and ruff my hair up so it isn’t completely soaked. Water will travel down to your ends and your roots will be much more drier, so ruffing it up and making sure your head is equally wet helps a lot. If I scrunch my hair and a lot of water comes out of my hand, it’s not ready for product. I generally consider it ready once only a little bit comes out (but a lot of water is still absorbed in the hair). It’s kinda like a sweet spot. Learning to use the right amount of product will vary with how much hair you have. Start small. I have shoulder length hair and I use about a nickel size of each product. I also comb through my hair one last time once I put my product in to ensure that and the water is spread out nicely.

I do it similarly to you. I just use more product because my hair is thirsty like a boymoder on prog and eats it all up. Even if I use a whole lot of leave-in conditioner, the next day it’s dry again and wants more.
