I couldn’t resist giving myself a weird name. Was too bored of having a common name.

There’s nothing wrong with it if you’re self-aware of what you’re doing to your passing prospects and/or your ability to be seen as a normal/unremarkable member of your target-sex. I have a mixture of good and bad feelings about my name. I like it in a vacuum, I like when my friends say it, but when it raises eyebrows it makes me feel regretful sometimes. But I dug that grave so imma lie in it lololol

honestly though, i just think about that if somebody saw me with my sister it would be infinitely weirder if i had a normal name, and also the name can be explained away by where i grew up. i had childhood friends who were named Rain and Moon by their parents because i grew up in middle of nowhere hippy california. so i dont think choosing something weird would effect my passing prospects that much here.
