    The whitest of lukewarm takes

I dislike the abuse of all animals human or otherwise, but I would never exclude my fellow man from this.

I despise people who value the lives of the human over the inhuman,

I despise people who split these in two. Conscious suffering is something inherently wrong no matter the origin. Even if an AI developed consciousness it’d be horrible to cause it suffering

Animal abuse is only wrong if they’re conscious or able to feel pain. Most are, especially vertebrates. What I personally consider universally wrong is causing something no matter what it is, to experience pain to an extent they don’t accept. But this is by my “moral” moral framebook. What’s “moral” depends on the society. We view and desensitize ourselves to the manmade horros taking part in animal industries. But I don’t care because I have to play by the society’s book. It is an unfortunate thing many of us accept, we just go with the flow. Same could apply to inhumane treatment of humans in a dystopian society. It’s just the matter of how grounded in society that moral standard is. Imagine that to survive you’d need to abuse people. If you wanted to live you’d have to play by that book, and I guarantee that many would. Ultimately morality comes from majority

Human suffering matters just as much, why wouldn’t it?
