the math for it isn’t too hard to understand but always makes you go like “wow that’s such a cool idea”. like you can explain Diffie Hellman to someone in 5-10 minutes and it’s so simple yet so cool. RSA is a bit harder but also really cool, and along the way you get to explore different topics like how to generate big primes and what primes to generate to not get cracked. and then you can flip it upside down and you get digital signatures. and then if you know a bit of group theory, you can figure out elliptic curves and slap it on some of the stuff above to make it cooler. and then you take everything mod p and you can compute stuff easily. and then you combine all that and you get how tls works. I feel like that it has such a big fun/investment ratio and it’s not just a party trick but an insight into what internet is built upon. so cool. yapped for 2-3 hours straight to a friend about all this and would do it again 10/10 go read about it its so cool
