    positive is having both male and female sex characteristics. i.e. androgenized chest hair and breasts.

    negative is the absence of strong dimorphic cues on either end

      androgyny isnt real in any practical sense.

      for positive androgyny, using the hairy breasts example; someone with that will just look like a hairy woman

      and for negative androgyny, nobody will see someone and think “that person isnt a man or a woman”. they’ll look for context cues to determine if the androgynous person is a man or a woman. or assume woman. especially in the face since most facial dimorphism is male faces having a bunch of extra garbage.

      this is generally because there’s no third sex and therefore no generally understood and recognised third social gender.
