I’ve committed to never speak of any neurodivergences I suffer from amongst my peers. It feels similar to spirituality / exercise / trauma / D&D characters because it’s highly personalized and difficult to parse unless you directly relate to it. So this can be a disgruntling conversation topic since the easiest form of back-and-forth is each participant recounting their own %thing%, and if it doesn’t align with the original speaker’s experience it can feel as though they’re drawing attention away, which can be diminishing and hurtful.

And that is BAD NEWS, nuh uh, none for me, thank you!

i think adhd/autism is not that uncommon but the other things are rather rare

…or maybe the people i know irl are more likely to have adhd or autism than the average population

It’s just more prominent online. Irl I only know that my mother has ADHD, I’m ND because of her, otherwise maybe like a few people over the many years who were apparent.

It’s fucking wild, I just can’t believe that… My brain doesn’t want to understand that I’m actually suffering more than a normal amount… Compared to average fucking person
