one time when i was a freshman in high school (14 yrs old btw) we had to make political poems regarding some social issue (i genuinely cannot remember the reason why) for a government class. i chose anti vaxxers/alternative medicine parents as my topic (based for 2018) and called it “6 feet under”. on the day it was due my teacher asked for volunteers to present their poems to the class, and when no one wanted to he started picking “randomly”. i was the first to go and as a cringe teen i stumbled through my poem and sat back down. my teacher then went on to explain how parents shouldn’t be shamed for choosing what they want for their children medically and how misguided i was to the entire class. he then targeted me for the rest of the semester by ridiculing me in front of the entire class anytime i took too long to take notes or when my papers weren’t adequate. fuck old conservative dudes i was fucking based
