It literally did nothing but bring harm to us, with absolutely 0 benefits for anyone but sissies/fetishists and theyfabs. It made people drop our healthcare, it made libs accept a woke version of “ywnba-”. And it generally made a mockery out of anyone suffering from sex dysphoria because suddenly no one needed dysphoria to be trans.

It’s a post hoc justification, the world is governed by material conditions and the social relations stemming from them not ideas in people’s minds
Transphobia, like all things, has a material base

Ideas are shaped by the social relations of any given society, the ideas in American politicians heads and the actions they take are the way they are because of the social relations and conditions of bourgeois society and this is true regardless of whether they read theory. ideas are simply by-products of material conditions not the cause for change in in of themselves

but to say this rhetoric didn’t have an effect on the material reality is ludicrous
it comes from material reality not the other way around is my point. ideas like “sex is unchangeable” come from the material conditions of class society creating social relations which necessitate a strict sex binary. therefore having an understanding that “these ideas are bad” is silly and misses the fundamental point. you can fight those ideas all you like but it would never fundamentally change anything because the conditions which give rise to them still exist. again, the world isnt shaped by ideas and idealism is a cancer

I am not saying its wrong, I am saying it is a topic that requires good faith whoch cissoids do not have so we got the “You can’t change sex but can play pretend via gender” in these spaces
