Economics isn’t supposed to make sense, it’s a social science trying to masquerade as a hard science and pass off shoddy math as natural precepts like gravity. Orthodox economics really functions more like a secular religion, providing thought-terminating cliches to the masses and lending legitimacy to a system where a tiny fraction of people have more than everyone else combined, which makes absolutely zero sense from a position of actual logic and reason.
