Most doods still live on Tumblr due to female socialization. Not surprising at all.

My guess is that us doods tend to be less ABOUT THIS SHIT than the girls are. The survey on 4t4 said that microcelebs are really rare in general, but also that literally no doods see themselves as current microcelebs. Doods also are more likely to go full stealth and leave trans communities. Doods and troons also might tend to stick with their ilk and reach across the aisle a little less, so troon dominance can be a self fulfilling prophecy, less doods at first = less doods want to join cause there’s gonna be no fellow doods. Lemmy is basically a “how invested in this shit are you?” funnel, so it leads to shaking off doods who don’t really have their heart in it

    TL;DR: We’re more casual

For reasons, trans women are predominantly more online than trans men.

My theory is that, for some reason, tech was always seen as a male thing. Then those males went on to have sons (trans women) and because of gender roles, they introduced them to tech things and didn’t really bother with their daughters, who they assumed they’d be more into makeup and dolls.

At least, that’s probably true for me. I don’t think my dad would have felt the same connection to me if I were female. My brother and I are both very tech savvy and my sister is tech literate but doesn’t care very much. The average person doesn’t care to interact with the outskirts of the internet (which, in this case, is Lemmy).

Very fembrained of the doods if you ask me

Very reasonable theory you just wrote.

The only people I know that use Reddit (it’s highly unpopular in my area) are the tech savvy ones, or those in STEM, read as chronically online. As these are stereotypically male interests, no wonder AMABs here are predominant. From what I see, AFABs really love to inhabit artistic or normie places where the main idea is self-expression. From the young age, they are taught to work hard on their public image in terms of being likeable, so finding an outlet for this is only natural. And changing the habits is hard.

unrelated but the word troon as a generic online thing is so funny to me. like it literally means trans goon
