It’s full of posers that activity make the punk scene worse. It took the anti establishment DIY nature of punk and then shat on that and wiped their ass with £50 notes. If it was called anything else I wouldn’t care it’d just be another generic corpo slop genre but by actively choosing the name pop-punk it’s stupid. It’s a neo-liberal genre designed to make people feel correct about listening to it whilst doing nothing to actually challenge the issues or discuss further ones. There is a reason so many of these industry plants are pop punk and genres that make people feel radical when the message isn’t.
