Hi there tranistan dot com moderators:

We would like to remind you that public communities are visible to everyone, including visitors without a registered account. All newly created communities are public by default.

If you would like to keep your community hidden from prying, unregistered eyes, please set it to “local” on your community’s settings.

How to set your community to local:

  1. Open your community’s main page (https://tranistan.com/c/your_community@tranistan.com)
  2. Click on the “Edit” button on the sidebar (you have to be a moderator in order to do this)
  3. Scroll down to the “Visibility” dropdown and choose “Local Only”

And there’s that!

If your community is set to public and do not wish to change it, we recommend that you please state it so in your community’s sidebar so that your users are aware the content they post is viewable by everyone.

Thanks for your cooperation :)

No, local communities were always a feature. Private communities are still something we want here, but as an extra layer of security on top of local communities, since private communities will be invite-only for tranistan already registered users.

Ohhh so basically local is invite-only for unregistered users, and private is invite-only for registered users?
