When Janice Raymond argued that troons actively reenforce gendered stereotypes maybe she had a point
actually though. this place is supposedly transSEX, but the amount of people who actually seem to care about and expect themselves and others to conform to stereotypes is so infuriating
I might b dumb but I don’t see anything wrong with wanting to be more socially feminine or masculine, it’s taken way too seriously though for sure
I don’t think that’s what people mean when they say they don’t “think like a woman” whatever that means
well that’s easy. Women are born thinking a certain way, and men are born thinking the other. They each have different capacities and of course barriers the others thoughts cannot cross. This sounds familiar…
you say this like a joke but a non zero amount of people here think like this
yeah in a way it’s kind of pushing men/women into a box of a way they are “supposed” to think, but i don’t think that’s what people are going for when they talk about it
“Kind of” “in a way”
No that’s literally just what it’s doing 😭
okay yeah but like i like to think that ppl here wouldn’t be like that?? maybe i give too much benefit of the doubt idk.
I guess I just don’t know what else it would mean
I agree with soulpass I use that one ironically bc the term soulhon is insane. malebrained and fembrained are just kinda shorthand for how close one’s socialization is to either side, it doesn’t mean much.
In my opinion, they constitute some degree of reality. Although it’s annoying when cis people use it as an excuse, I have seen some cases of male/female socialization on trans people. Like, they do some things so mind boggling that can only be explained because of their past, and their cis equivalents would have never even thought of doing.
Also, to me soul passing is real. Not as in “do you conform to X gender’s stereotypes” but rather…I’m so comfortable in my desired sex that all my thoughts, feelings, and presence come out of that. To the point where if I dressed up as a guy, I would think “I’m a girl that cosplays as a boy”. Like the trans sex has gone so deep that it became cis. To the point if I were to transition to a man, I’d think of myself as a trans man.

I’m curious if you can provide an example
Like, those trans women that transitioned at like 40 and they act like a stereotypical, offensive caricature of a woman, because that’s all they know. I’d say Dylan Mulvaney is a good example but she was younger and also she has issues in general…
In the sub, someone posted about a trans man who had drawn an activist message on his chest and he was very preachy and loud. I don’t know, I just thought…I’ve seen no cis man ever do this
Despite everything, please don’t take me for someone who uses fem/malebrained in my day to day life, just in 4chan spaces for the laughs
How old was Dylan Mulvaney when she transed anyhow? I don’t think I’m privy to this lore
25-26
