I think it’s straight up misogynistic.
drag is theatre and radical creative expression. musicals might be a good analogy, not everyone likes or ‘gets’ musicals, and musicals can be colorful, dramatic, very queer, loud, etc. its a performance. you dont have to be into it, just like you dont have to go to pride parades.
i think its rude to say a drag queen is the same gender as a trans woman. plenty of drag queens will just tell you no, they are still gay men. but you cant ignore theres also a none zero number of actual trans women in the drag scene, either doing drag onstage or doing backstage work. i think it sucks shit that drag shows on tv are rude to/exclude trans women, theyre so sanitized in comparison…
i think it’s fun, but i can understand why it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea…
