in so many countries it is seen as ugly to have darker skin, in jamaica people go out of their way to BLEACH their skin, my dad did it and my ex gf wanted to do iy. In Asia if you are darker skinned you are seen as undesirable if you are darker skinned in east Asia you are seen as exotic or a foreigner even if you grew up there. No matter where you go you will encounter anti blackness even if people like to think racism is gone. It depresses me so much, I can’t say I don’t fall for it sometimes though, I often wish I was lighter and I wiahed I could look like my favourite characters and wear cute clothes, completely forgetting brown people can do that to. Idk I feel like everyone’s brainwashed into thinking white = default and good. If there’s a black person in a show or game it’s seen as forced diversity, but if a white man is the main character its seen as normal. I’m just so tired of it all.
