So I’ve been considering a career pivot recently out from STEM. But every type of job I’d be curious of is like “Will be EMINENTLY replaced by AI” and every testimonial is like, “I earn 1 cent every hour and just fix the chatbox’s mistakes everyday and I’m miserable”.

well, there’s always the only thing that can’t be replaced by retarded CEOs with AI. The trades.

capitalism is a lazy answer that i despise. this isn’t new. capitalism is not the great evil people make it out to be, it just requires a government willing to regulate it. america’s has been the opposite since the 70s. this lack of regulation and trickle down economics bullshit isn’t the result of capitalism, but of greed, which appears inevitably in literally every single system, including communism. you’re participating in the brain drain by just saying “capitalism.” capitalism can’t exist without regulation. we had monopolies and essentially oligarchs in americas earlier history too, until we (temporarily) dealt with that.

government regulation is at odds with the capitalist system itself. The government is also a bourgeois institution, and any regulation set on the capitalist can just as easily become reversed because the government often shares common interests. The greed you speak of does not come from a vacuum but from capitalism itself.
