    but srsly a lot of people meet through the internet these days and i just cant fucken do it… LDRs are not for the weak (or those of us who need touch and irl p2p interaction)

    Depends on what both parties goals are, really. My friends are in online relationships, but I suppose you could consider them long distance ones now. They make sure to visit their partners regularly. That is definitely a key attribute.

    They sound absolutely horrendous to me idk, i‘m doing long distance rn and we see each other about once a month and it still feels like way too little time together, so i imagine an completely online relationship would be far worse

    If you can meet the person irl and show face early on and not keep it feeling like online only then sure. But those are big conditions and they usually devolve into nothingness, I would know
