i use cachyos with kde plasma it works well to maintain my malebrained status

not necessarily a beginner distro because arch but I find it’s quite peak if you have some linux experience and wanna play with customization (can’t really break it because arch wiki has everything you need)

Nowadays it’s less about distro and more about the desktop environment you want

Are you more comfortable in windows-like systems or macOS-like systems?

KDE Plasma, I’d say, is the most capable and feature rich DE. However, it is so feature rich that the UI is frankly quite cluttered at times.

GNOME is the DE with the UI that I personally find the most polished and modern. Buttttt, the whole philosophy of GNOME is that it is very barebones and you have to download multiple extensions to make it work like you want to.

Cinnamon is an amazing middle ground, BUTT its main distro, Linux Mint, is SO geared towards being “stable” that it doesn’t even fully support modern technologies. It’s quite annoying.

All that remains is that you see pictures of them all to decide which you’d find most appropriate
