      the movement you need to get your shoulders out of the way can rotate your hips forwards/backwards and also move them for balance reasons, theres a reason why every body measurement study starts every measurement description with “taken standing straight”

        does that underestimate or overestimate hip breadth? how would you measure without calipers then?

          and idk probably depends on how youre standing, its not like i have experience being horribly unscientific with my measuring 💅

            i mean i figured without calipers there’s always gonna be some error but i didn’t know hip rotation makes that big of a difference.

              i mean it depends on the person how much difference there will be, but sliding door is already iffy and introducing even more inconsistency is just a bad idea imo

              better to do a photo with a ruler and then measure on pc than this imo, as long as camera is on same level as hips
