ive spent alot of time in wards in my life (5 time visitor lmao) and while some of the nurses were awful, the good ones are who really helped me the most in there (the doctors are always awful) and i wanna repay that kindness. also i have an overwhelming need to care for people that honestly hurts my relationships sometimes and causes me to seek out friends/partners that arent good for me, and i think having somewhere to put all that empathy and care separated from my personal life would be really helpful!
that makes total sense, hospitals are freaky. i honestly made my decision to pursue nursing after watching the pitt s1 and reflecting on all the nurses that helped me. i think alot about an er nurse who once thanked me for being so kind to her when i was detoxing there before being put into a ward since most psych patients were awful to her. i wanna help carry that burden in return, if that makes sense.
