like please explain me why the girl in picrel is wearing a tranny pin. the sub is a generic quirky letgirlshavefun whatever type beat so this is not really even relevant

like why whyyy why would you voluntarily give up this information in a context that’s only going to be associated with you openly labeling yourself as “im a woman but not really teehee am i valid” kind of way??

why is the girl in picrel not wearing a pin about her sexual orientation? political affiliation? inter/perisex status? only trans pin?

fuck off.hate that shit. have some respect.

they support visiblity. and visiblity for minorities is a good thing in general, as they can feel less lonely and isolated in society.

and also they probably spend too much time in ultraprogressive circles and don’t think a normie will see a trans pin and immediately think “a gross pervert male amab tranny”.

idk about the pic tho, they usually add orientation pin too. some people just like to show that they belong to some minority and are proud of it.

I’m trying to answer the question seriously and neutrally because I’m unsure if it’s rhetorical or not. Please be patient, I’m unironically retarded.

So, in theory, it’s supposed to be casual visiblity, where absolutely random people around you show that they belong to a certain minority and whatever media feeds you about that minority stops being your only exposure to it. Althou theory and practice differs, and people who proudly demonstrate it are often le bad optics.

i know but it’s this specific context where i have problems with. it’s a very specific kind of brainworm and tbf it’s okay if you don’t get it, like, it’s my own neuroticism tbh. this is entirely subjective.

I don’t understand this specific context either. But as I said, I am retarded and was answering more general question.

it’s freeing to show your “worst” parts openly online, trans people aren’t liked, openly mentioning it means the upvotes come from people who are ok with you being trans, the commenters are people who won’t immediately stop interacting once they find out you’re trans

i do but doing shit like picrel makes you look like you don’t really think trans women are women. that’s my point. why even bring it up? it’s like saying “hai i’m X and i’m a woman. trans btw.” like you see how that is weird? you would not say “hai i’m X and i’m a woman. lesbian btw” like whyyyy why bring it up???

People absolutely do that actually. Pins are less loud way to disclose your identity and political affiliation to the world and find like minded people or dates and /or support trans rights

i know that people do that, innn this instance i think it’s out of insecurity and like an “apology” for your own identity though

idk how to explain but there is a distinction between readily disclosing it when asked and going out of your way to announce it on your own

But people do wear lesbian pins or rainbow merch and tell everyone they are lesbian. Or bisexual. It’s a good way to meet new people and a convo starter even if kinda weird

Imagine not wearing a trans pin and announcing to all the most interesting people that you are a cissoid (not human)
