dumpster diving. if you live near a college campus, drive around when the semester ends. suburban types will also leave furniture curbside for trash pickup, it’s usually chairs though. you might also find people just giving crap away on craigslist.

idk if it’s available outside the us but I got my bed frame on Mac.bid. Got a $100ish amazon daybed frame for $30 including lot fees. Most of the stuff on that site is heavily discounted amazon furniture it even gives the amazon link in the description. It’s usually stuff that people return but didn’t use
