If it’s bad, just kill yourself.
If your body and mind are too deformed, if you will never be happy, don’t punish yourself with life.
Suicide is not humiliating, it is not just desperation, it is rebellion, the final act of independence a human can perform.
“I don’t like my life, therefore, I won’t continue living.”; That’s one of the most mature decisions you can take, specially if you’ve already analyzed the cards you’ve been dealt, and concluded it won’t get better.
And is it so bad? Is so wrong to just desire to be freed from your material conditions and sufferings? Why is it such a convoluted opinion that some lives are not worth living?
I, wholeheartedly believe that if someone in their right mind wants to die, they should be let go.
After all, our lives are the only thing we truly own… Is not the fact that we’re not allowed to take it, blasphemous?
“Everywhere you look you find an end to your sufferings. You see that steep drop-off? It leads down to freedom. You see that ocean, that river, that well? Freedom lies at its bottom. You see that short, shriveled, bare tree? Freedom hangs from it… You ask, what is the path to freedom? Any vein in your body.”
–Seneca.
I’m interested in this take. I’ve never understood the idea that your life is your own. I wish you the best, and I think you’ll make it.
