worms made me work for my transition. it made me put effort in because i was dysphoric and i wanted to improve it instead of just being passive and fakehappy. worms helped me realize that i need to get off my fucking ass and do things for my transition to even have the chance of being successful. worms kept me from having a total lack of self awareness and when it comes to social interactions it’s better to be overcautious than to accidentally say or do something weird that’ll change how people perceive you forever. obviously the best would be to be moderate/healthily cautious but that’s a very fine line and overcaution and overthinking is the lesser evil when compared to undercaution and underthinking

it’s just that going completely overboard with worms is bad but if you have worms then you have the capacity to be self aware and you can work on reducing your worms to a healthy point as it’s easier to bring them down than going from them being nonexistent to existent

I’ve had the same experience, I think avoiding brainworms is only advisable for people who are not at all in a great place in their life and spiral bad on the regular (which is most of the people on here tbf). Otherwise, I can’t see how transitioning is supposed to work if you’re incapable of identifying the workable issues that are messing with your passing.
