Wonderful! Well not for you (sorry), but i think i got whats happening here. Women in eastern europe basically never put up a “customer service” voice (because of glorious socialist equallity) but then to us slightly deeper female voices sound normal.
I have had similar responses from people after giving my opinion on their voice. I think that culture is worst in america (but it shows up in the entire anglosphere + western europe) (oh obviously lots of asia too)
Seriously my ears bleed when i hear “not horribly depressed and didnt smoke for 20 years” high pitched female voices
But ive never been bothered about it irl, just from americans
Also my theory is shit compared to the “this person is underage” theory, but ive been thinking about this a lot in general
so you tell me that to pass in America you need to have customer service voice
From what americans tell me yeah basically every woman is doing it at least a little bit
