this place has been the only community where i’ve actually felt like i could relate to the people in it, i’ve tried to find trans spaces in south africa but everything i’ve found is either tiny online groups or LGBT spaces overrun by cis gay men and the occasional cis lesbian

i know i’m probably repeating points that a bunch of people have already made but i feel like i have to get this out because i’m genuinely scared that this place will just die out and then there won’t be a community like this at all anymore, i hope that what happened becomes a bad memory in the history of this place and won’t lead to the complete dissolution of an otherwise very lovely community (not that i want it to just be forgotten immediately, what pizzagirl did is disgusting and the mods should do whatever they can to prevent anything like this from happening again)

i know there’s a lot of doomposting and depression here but from what i’ve seen, everyone tries their hardest to help whoever they can and i just think that’s a wonderful thing, especially in a time where our existence is so politicized and hated

this post is probably gonna sound really stupid but i just wanna get my thoughts out so i can hopefully get some sleep tonight, i don’t know if everyone else here is sharing their discord users in preparation for the potential shutdown of the lemmy, but if it is my discord is sharkmoder420, i know i’m basically a nobody since i pretty much only lurk here but i just want a different method of communication in case this place gets deleted and a new one gets created with different mods
