my gums on my front two teeth are super recessed (i saw somewhere it’s something caused by estrogen so that’s probably why it’s happening) and i’m afraid they may fall out soon (it’s getting worse overtime i think)

do you guys have any fixes that don’t involve me going to the dentist and admitting to them i take diy hrt? i also have an issue of taking like 20 min to brush my teeth but ive shortened it to 5 and i make sure to brush in circles now instead of in horizontal strokes like i used to (and is there anything dietary i can do too)

and does anyone else have these issues too or is that estrogen = gum thinning thing false

go to the dentist and don’t say that you’re on hrt

also try using a toothbrush with softer bristles

i havent heard E causing it but i have heard brushing too hard does.

use soft bristle brushes, go in circle lightly, dont go at it at a harsh angle also (90 degree to your teeth is fine), you dont need to scrub it super hard and unrelated, you’re suppose to leave the tooth paste on your teeth afterwards since it helps reinforce the enamel if you arent doing that

suppose to leave the tooth paste on your teeth genuinely never heard of this before damn

and i do try to go in a circle lightly but then i put my tongue to my teeth and it doesn’t feel clean to me so i end up going harder and harder now i try to be as absolutely gentle as possible at the super bad region (gums of front two teeth) and i think its doing something but i still get the blood taste in mouth near there for no reason randomly

the toothepaste would usually be enough to get rid of the plaque build up, how long are you brushing for? i usually do around 1-2 min for front. If the plaque is still there, you can always use those flosspicks or wooden toothpick and scrape it off before brushing

i think 20 is a bit long lol, 5min seems fine, if brushing lightly dont get rid of the plaque, u can always try to just scrape it with a wooden toothpick while minding your gum. maybe also look for a new toothpaste, i pick the colgate one that doesnt have sodium lauryl sulfate

and i’m aware 20 is ridiculously long i’m pretty sure ive just been brushing wrong for a while lol
