Yeah no shit you’d rather be single than lower your standards if you don’t need to lower your standards to be in a relationship.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to be able to get the perfect partner or whatever, whether it be living in a shithole or not passing well enough some ppl are just stuck single forever which is much different to being single for a temporary period. And hence have to go for relationships in which they may have to make some sacrifices or just end up in a worse mental state than said relationships would put them in due to long term loneliness
