Totally forgot to post about this, but about a week ago I found a camera hidden inside an air purifier in my room. It was sitting on top of my closet, which I can’t even reach because I’m short, so I never thought to check it.

They had completely emptied out the purifier and left only the outer shell. The camera was hidden inside, with a hole drilled for the lens, and the whole thing was screwed to the closet so it wouldn’t fall over.

Looking back, I realized I had never actually seen the purifier working or blowing out any air. I noticed the lens before and assumed it was some kind of sensor, but eventually I started wondering if it could be a camera. As paranoid as that sounded at the time, it turned out to be exactly what it was.

I contacted social services, and my parents were required to remove it because it was considered an invasion of my privacy. It still really creeps me out, though. I keep wondering what might have been recorded.
